I can't decide which is more interesting - the background or the foreground. It all works beautifully!

Location
Cuff Parade, Mumbai, India.Time
Late evening, 9:00 PM.Lighting
It was getting dark fast, so had this on a long exposure. Was only hoping the ship at right would not start moving.Equipment
The camera used was a borrowed one. A NIKON D5100 with kit lens, an 18-55 mm VR II. I had not carried my tripod so one of the rocks you see in the foreground was my makeshift tripod. It was difficult finding a smooth one, but after a while, success.Inspiration
My focus for the shot was to catch the blues of the skies just after sunset. Once I reaching the site, I realised how different the water looked due to colourful reflection. I knew it was a great opportunity, so I just clicked away.Editing
This was shot in RAW, so yes, there is post-processing done. Used Nikon Capture NX-D. There were changes made to exposure composition and colour balance. In my camera bag
My camera, a flashlight, spare battery, and an additional lens.Feedback
One key lesson. Take your time for the shot, don't keep clicking and expect one to be great. Learn from each shot, what adjustments need to be made, make them and you will see immediate improvement on the next one. And lastly, just don't give up. The shot you see above was a shot after I almost gave up, I just told myself, "Ok, maybe one more, let me change the exposure" I choose a new place (rock tripod), increased the exposure just a little bit more, and was delighted at the result.
