Location

This photo was taken in my garden, St Petersburg, Fl. I have a color version of this picture, but the B/W just gives it an edge.

Time

This was taken in Aug 2010 at about 4:30 pm.

Lighting

My yard faces the west so the sun was behind me as I took the picture. Since there was a shadow on the fence behind the flower, it just darkened the background. I was really surprised when I saw the picture. I didn't really notice until after the shot was taken.

Equipment

This was shot with a Panasonic Lumina. No flash or other equipment - just a steady hand.

Inspiration

I love my garden and the vegetation. When my flowers are in perfect form I love to capture them. They just add to the serenity of the garden.

Editing

I really didn't do anything to this photo. It was taken in color and I just used the photo gallery B/W feature to enter it into a contest.

In my camera bag

Right now I have a Sony Cybershot. DSC-HX300. This so far the best camera I've had. I keep a small tripod in the bag, extra batteries and sandisks. Sometimes I carry a large tripod, depending where I go.
