Tradition at my church on Easter Sunday. Every year members and friends bring flowers of all kinds to "bloom the cross". We all go out together during the "children's time" near the beginning of the service. The palm leaves from Palm Sunday are put on the cross before the sunrise service, replacing the black drape put on Good Friday. The transformation of the cross to full bloom is beautiful and also seems to coalesce the individuals even more into a community of believers.
