This photo was taken in South Carolina, on the coast. I had been walking over the dunes and turned around to see the sunset and managed to capture these birds in flight.Time
It was just before sunset when I too this photo.Lighting
Oddly enough, I'm glad that it was pretty overcast that day. The clouds made for a better silhouette and focus on the seagulls than a sunset would have.Equipment
I used a Sony DSC-HX10V with manual controls to capture this moment.Inspiration

Saturation was turned down and contrast was turned up a bit, but there was nothing too invasive in the process.In my camera bag

Just always keep your eyes peeled and never be afraid to click the shutter. Some photos require a lot of deliberate composition, but this was a quick-pull that you cannot plan for.
