I would like to thank everyone so much for all of your nice comments on my photo. I haven't been on ViewBug for over a year. I've let so many other things take me away from one of the things I've always loved to do.......take photos. I've still been taking photos; however, not scenic ones, wildlife or
unusual things. I'm going to try harder to start posting some photos that everyone can enjoy on ViewBug. I guess I've been putting too much emphasis on grandchildren and great grandchildren the last year or so. I'm coming back. Sincerely, dontjaneknow

Behind The Lens

Location

Across the road on the opposite hill from where we live. We obviously live where there are many trees.

Time

It was 6:52 in the evening in July.

Lighting

My camera has a 10x zoom lens, so I must have zoomed in quite a ways to pull it in this close.

Equipment

I have a Kodak Z740 Zoom Digital Camera -- Aperture: f/7.1 Exposure: 1/1500 Did not use tripod or flash.

Inspiration

I've always enjoyed taking sunrises and sunsets over the years. When I looked out the window and saw what I might be able to capture, I walked out on our sundeck and took a few. I liked this one the best.

Editing

No.

In my camera bag

I used to carry quite a bit of camera equipment with me, but now that I'm in my seventies I take most of my photos close to home. I still use my tripod occasionally and some other items.

Feedback

Keep your eyes open for the right timing. Have patience. You often times will have to take several shots at different intervals to capture what you really want. Remember sunrises come up before you know it, and sunsets go down before you realize they're gone. You must be ready. These kinds of photos don't wait for you to get ready.
