I live on the west coast of the Mitten (MIchigan) and this is farm and orchard land. I used to get a 20 minute ride through this country every time I go into Grand Rapids. This farmer owns a corner property, there is a house by these trees now.Time
On the way home one day I saw that the soybeans were starting to turn color because it was about harvest time and the clouds were just perfect. The sun was right it was about 5 pm.Lighting
It was a bright fall day.Equipment
I used a little sony pocket camera with no tripod. I remember kneeling for it so that the soybeans wouldn't look to tiny.Inspiration
The colors were just fantastic. If I could paint it I would have.Editing
I used a technique I remember reading about taking two pictures at different f-stop and then combining them. That's the technique I used here. Darned if I can remember the technical name for it though, sorry. In my camera bag
I'm a Cannon person a Sony and an Iphone person. I love my Sony it’s a Cyber-shot DSC-W530 and it's blue. Then I have my iphone 6 which I need to make more space on to shoot more pics.Feedback
Patience is a virtue, always stop for what captures your eyes at that moment cause that moment doesn't really duplicate again ever. Like with this shot, I drove by the other day and realized someone had built a house just behind those trees now and so that shot cannot ever be done again. I'm not one of those guys that plans photo shooting trips, I drive and watch. Kinda the boy scout motto of always be prepared.
