Behind The Lens

Location

This is the Art Gallery of Alberta or AGA for short, taken in downtown Edmonton, Alberta.

Time

This was taken in the early evening late in the summer.

Lighting

With it being later in the day the sun was lower, making for darker shadows and reflections.

Equipment

I shot it with an Olympus OMD_EM1, 12-50mm lens.

Inspiration

I have shot it quite a few times, but it is challenging not to to have a lot more people and vehicles in the frame, which I think takes away from it. I stood and waited awhile and liked the fact that the only person in the frame was walking away. Haven't seen the same scenario since...

Editing

Upped the exposure slightly and sharpened it.

In my camera bag

I normally have a wide angle and telephoto lens, extra battery, extra memory card.

Feedback

If you have something in your mind of what you would like to shoot, be patient let it come to you don't force it. It may mean multiple revisits and images, before you get the one you want. If that is the case use the experience to grow and ultimately become a better photographer. Play around with your shutter speed and ISO in low light conditions, even if it means a lot of deleted images… again use the experience to grow and learn.
