This photo was taken in Berlin after my travels through eastern Europe. I was walking along the River Spree just about to walk over the Oberbaumbrucke Bridge when I noticed what an amazing sunset so I pulled out my little digital camera and took this picture!Time
It was just coming up to sunset after I had spent the day walking around and enjoying the sites of Berlin. I was just about to walk over the River Spree and the sunset looked amazing. I also took a number of other photos on the Oberbaumbrucke Bridge as the sun was setting looking at the Berliner Fernsehturm.Lighting
It was simply an opportune moment that I took advantage of as I wondered around the fantastic city of Berlin.Equipment
All I used for this photo is my basic Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX60 digital camera. No special setting were used or tripods just simply hand held and without a flash.Inspiration
I'm just an amateur photographer, but I find walking around and taking pictures when you are travelling alone is a great way of really enjoying and immersing yourself in the sites of the places you are visiting. I find you look at things differently and take more notice of the little nuances and differences to country you are from.Editing
I used a little of the effects in ViewBug to enhance some of the colours in the sunset which can be washed out with the white balance setting on my camera. In my camera bag
All I had was my little Panasonic Lumix camera, but I have recently upgraded to a Sony NEX-5.Feedback
Just always have your camera available so you can take advantage of those perfect 'Kodak moments'. Its a lot of fun trying to take great pictures that you can use as your laptops wallpaper or even upload to sites like ViewBug and enter them into competitions and get some recognition from fellow 'Kodakers'! Also try to imagine how the lighting is going to change as the sun sets over a particular landscape you are trying to capture and just make sure you are in the right place at the right time... simples!
