This railroad trestle has been converted into a walking bridge. What you see in this photo is the rising sun, illuminating a light overnight dusting of snow on the walkway, trees, and bridge structure itself.

Location
This photo was taken at the trail bridge along Lindsborg, KS's Valkommen Trail. Originally it was a railroad trestle, and was converted to a walking bridge in 2006. This was taken one cold February morning after a light dusting of snow. I'd gone out to see if I could get some photos of the new fallen snow in the early morning light and then ended up with this shot.Time
This was taken around 7am as I recall.Lighting
The morning sunrise was streaming through the trees and just had a lovely orange glow that was lighting up anything dusted with snow.Equipment
I shoot with a Canon t3i Rebel. This shot was made with a Canon EF II 18-55mm zoom at its widest aperture and zoom.Inspiration
The way the sun was interacting with the snow primarily was what drew my eye to the shot.Editing
I balanced the image dynamically in Lightroom 5, raising some shadow details and lowering highlight areas. Lightened the oranges to bring them out a bit. Increased contrast and clarity as well. Added a slight vignette. In my camera bag
I shoot almost exclusively with vintage film lenses these days, but occasionally - as was the case on the morning this shot was made - bring along my trusty Canon 18-55. I also carry an 8mm Rokinon Fisheye that I love to use. My favorite lens is an early 1970s Sears (Tokina made) 55mm f1.4 lens. It delivers the most gorgeous bokeh.Feedback
Always keep your eyes open. Always be looking for how the sun is landing on everything around you.
