Being out there in the wilderness ... there are just no words to describe the feeling. You have to be there to understand, but above all, to sense that particular feeling. It is just you out there and your "friends", and in between some piece of equipment to help you preserve forever that feeling. Gradually, it overwhelmes you and becomes part of you...
This picture was taken in Scotland, some time ago. First sight of a Puffin but such a joyful experience.

Location
This photo was taken in Scotland, some time ago, in a tour of the Mull-Iona-Staffa islands. Great place to encounter these beautiful birds and have the chance to watch them flying by.Time
Picture was captured around July, roughly mid-day on a very slight rain. Just love the rain droplets on the birds body and around ! Was lucky about the rain as it adds to the picture :)Lighting
As "writing with light" requires light, i would emphasize the need for a good quality lens, fast enough to let you play with speed - especially when we treasure wildlife action. It is not necessarily all about light and lens, it is also about patience, taking lots of pictures, staying in a right position and why not, a bit of luck :) Sometime, skill and lenses is not all.Equipment
Canon EOS 7D + Canon lens 70-200 f/2.8 L IS II USM + B&W UV clear filter 10 MRC handheld ... and yes, rain cover :)Inspiration

This was the first sight of a Puffin for me, but such a joyful experience. Just love it :)Editing
Some cropping and slight sharpening in the Canon software, i do not currently use any professional post-processing tool. Shoot just "raw", and as clear as i can from the camera itself. In my camera bag
Canon 7D, Canon 70-200 f2.8 L IS II USM , Canon 400 f/5.6 L, Canon 100 f/2.8 macro L IS, Canon 16-35 f/4 L IS, occasionally a flash (600 RX) and tripod (Manfrotto XPROB). Must have : lens protection filter - B&W UV clear 10 MRC.Feedback
Wildlife becomes a lifestyle, gradually it gets you, becomes part of your soul. Wildlife photography requires good equipment (i will move towards a FF body soon), fast and good quality lenses as you can get, as you have to be fast, clear & sharp. You will most probably, not get a second chance :) It is a tremendous experience, it builds you up. The second most beautiful feeling, after holding my son when he was born, is to be in a no-man's-land and a wild animal accepts you near by as it knows that you, the human being, are not a threat ...
