The climate change folks say that elephants could be extinct in 20 years. I hope they're wrong. This image is more powerful in light of the fact we may lose them. There is great beauty and power in this image, and a sadness, too.

Location
It is studio work. But I love fooling people telling that I was in Africa, under very dangerous situation.Time
It took me all day of full work.Lighting
All artist from sculptors, architects, painters, photographer, retouchers, and digital artists, share something in common; We are painting with light, the right angle and the right exposure means everything. Give realism, mood, create interest.Equipment
My regular equipment is a Canon t2i, two lenses, one flashes, tripod, and a lot of softwares.Inspiration
Ray Harryhausen, and all the movies with visual effects, and miniature models.Editing
This elephant is a digital composition with many photographic elements to get the right mood. This picture is a vivid example, and a warning that shows how blur is the line between reality and virtual reality. I started 30 years ago, shooting miniatures and models trying to look realistic. Also, when I was in a film school 30 years ago, I did a short video about Apollo XI using a G.I. Joe Astronaut playing as Neil Armstrong. The teacher calls me because I was supposing to film something in my own, and not using archive film from NASA. I was fooling everybody at the point that later I need to explain myself, showing how I did it in order to save my grades. In my camera bag
Canon t2i, two basic lenses, one flash YN 500ex, remote trigger, and one tripod. I do a lot of street photography. I walk a lot with my camera in different neighborhoods in New York, Madrid and Lima, waiting for something interesting get in front of my lens. I am a hunter.Feedback
Follow your passion, have faith on you. Do what you really love, but never imitate another artist, only get inspiration from others. Don’t be worry about public recognition or be a famous photographer, more you want that, more far away you get. Have fun, do it for your enjoyment.
