Location
This photo was taken in a park near Bogotá, Colombia on a relax day.Time
This was taken at 5:30 p.m. when the sun disappear from the sky in Bogotá. It was the perfect time to achieve the reflect from the threes in the lakeLighting
I wasn't looking to make images this day, but when I saw this beautiful light I wanted to record it. For me, this hour produces the better light in Bogotá. The green from the forest enhances with the golden from the sun producing a dreaming effect.Equipment
It was shoot with a Canon XS and a Canon EF-S 18-55 mounted on a tripod.Inspiration
Bogotá is an overcrowded, busy and noisy city. However, as soon as I cross the border of it, everything changes. The landscapes are beautiful and quiet. I wanted to capture this specific peaceful moment for the posterity.Editing
I increased the color vibrance and the contrast to give the image more depth as well as to differentiate the threes from the rest of the background. Also I cropped the image a little to fix the horizon line ir order to make it more symmetric. In my camera bag
I always hace my Canon 15-85mm mounted in my Canon 70D. This lens is sharp and very versatile. It can work as a base point to do portraits and landscapes. When I want to go further the naked eye visible, I mount the Canon 50-250 mm, and when I need it, I use the Canon 50mm f 1,4 for portrait. Its bookeh is beautiful so I can use it whenever I want to separate anything (not only people) from the background. I always carry a gorilla tripod, for overall proposes they are light and very easy to attach. Nevertheless, if I know that I will my camera to be more static or fixed, I bring my Dolica Tripod with me. Depending of the atmosphere that I am trying to achieve, I use my speedlites, Almost always for portraits pictures.Feedback
It is healthy to look first with your eyes, ears, nose and skin. Yes, I think that we see with our five senses. Then, when we have a picture in our head, we can see through the lens and capture it. When I took this picture I was looking this landscape for almost a complete hour. When the perfect light came, I decided to take the photograph.
