This majestic animal was taking a casual stroll when I pulled over and fired off a few shots - I found an amazing poser!

Behind The Lens

Location

I had just bought my Canon 70D and wanted to take it for a "run". Living in Fort McMurray, Northern Alberta, I drove towards the outskirts of the city to find this beautiful fox walking along the road.

Time

Morning

Lighting

Winter sunlight draped it form the side providing an appealing picture

Equipment

Canon 70D, EFS 55-135mm

Inspiration

Just the beauty of the animal in its natural setting

Editing

Cropping and exposure tweaks

In my camera bag

Canon 70D, EFS 55-135mm and 10-22mm

Feedback

Stay as far as you can safely be - they may look nice and cute but in reality, they are wildlife! Secondly, you want the subject to be at ease an not alerted (unless you are looking for an action shot). Patience pays well, you should be prepared to take many shots, it may surprise you that the last ones can turn out to be the best! A good tele/zoom lens is important to be able to capture the moment.
