i believe the best way for me to describe this image is to say beauty in simplicity.

where did you shoot this. I feel it's important to share locations, especially for those of us who travel frequently. Photos like yours could help us determine new locations to visit

Location
This photo was taken while watching the sunset in the Thar desert, outside of Jaisalmer, India.Time
There were hundreds of tourists around as everyone gathered around sunset to watch the sky and sand turn to gold. With some patience, I was able to find a sole camel, his rider, and his guide.Lighting
Everyone knows that sunset is a magical time for photography. What was difficult with this photograph was all of the movement. I was moving on a camel, with no control over its speed or direction. The subject was also moving on his camel with no control over its speed or direction. And, the sun was quickly setting. Being able to get all things to align well took time - and of course, luck.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D45. No flash or tripod.Inspiration
While everyone was taking selfies of themselves on camels, I wanted to capture something more timeless in this desert experience.Editing
I got pretty lucky with how the lighting came out in this image. I only slightly enhanced the contrast to get the silhouettes to really stand out.In my camera bag
As I'm usually on my feet all day while traveling and taking pictures, the less I can carry, the better. In the past, I would always carry a wide angle and zoom lens. I recently bought the Tamron 16-300mm and it has been amazing! I no longer miss shots while changing between lenses and now I don't need to carry anything other than an extra memory card.Feedback
Patience. Patience. Patience. Good images are worth waiting for.
