This photo was taken in the mountain forest. Every summer I pick up mushrooms with my grandpa in the mountain where we have a family house. I can call it a family hobby. This year (2013) it was the three of us mushrooming (including my dog).Time
When we make a deal to go for mushroom hunting (usually the night before), it means to get up a bit earlier. Since I am a bit of a lagger, we took off at 12 pm. While looking for the edable ones, I ran into this baby that was put there as a kind of distraction from the edible ones that actually fed us day in day out. The photo was taken on Thursday, August 1, 2013, 1:02 PM.Lighting
It was summertme, but since the photo was taken in the forest, it was a bit dark because of the trees around the object. I just saw it standing there, lay down and shot this queen of charisma.Equipment
I used Nikon D3100, with AF-S NIKKOR 18-105mm 1.3.5-5.6 G ED lens.Inspiration
It was a beautiful day and my grandfather (now 84) is always unstoppable in the woods. When we start looking for mushrooms, we always split, so we are maybe 200-300m far from one another other. He knew I took my camera with me and earlier that day when he saw me shooting, he asked me: "Did you come here to take photos of the mushrooms or did you come to gather some for lunch?" It was funny, made me smile. After a while I stopped again but this time I made sure he didn't see me.Editing
Contrast and brightness and a bit of HDR toning. In my camera bag
I am not a pro photographer, as it can be easily noticed. But I wish to be. I am passionate about it but still not able to pay for the real lens. I always have my camera Nikon D3100 with 18-105mm lens with me.Feedback
Even if you don't have an appropriate lens, you can still take an interesting photo. What is even more important is to try to "catch" moments or scenes that are not so visible. As W.H. Auden says, "There's always another story. There's more than meets the eye." Be patient and persistent. Try it thousand times and one must come out as a winner.
