Behind The Lens
Location
The photo was taken during a village visit. It was a one day workshop for upliftment of under privileged childrens of the village. The village mostly had families are potters & blacksmiths by profession.Time
Even though it was daytime but the challenge was the shade inside the hut...but a small stint of natural light was peeking enough to illuminate the set...had to work on the exposure but a few test shots & than the final one came to the satisfaction.Lighting
The lighting was not that bright only daylight coming from a hole enough to illuminate the subject.Equipment
Nikon D5100 with Nikkor 18-55 mm lens along with my trigger happy fingers. In fact hilariously did packed my tripod but forgot the same in the car so had to manage without it.Inspiration
Pottery in the India has an ancient history and is one of the most tangible and iconic form of regional art. It is a art with deep roots to cultural heritage that is still practiced extensively in India. But these artists who give life to clay still remain unnoticed & are sometimes leading lives below poverty. This is a tribute to those artists & as pottery has started thriving as an art form in India, I wish to create awareness about it as a functional item as well.Editing
Only a bit, not much except a pinch here & there. In my camera bag
I am still an amateur photographer who is still on his learning spree. I carry a Nikon D5100 with Nikkor 18-55mm, Nikkor 55-200 mm & a Tamron 70-300mm with an extra set of battery & memory card.Feedback
The direction of the light is very important & a proper illumination of the subject is must so to capture the exact focus as desired. As in this case the right amount of light was directly falling on the subject & rest of the shade was there to create the ambiance & only focus on the hands & the wheel.
