Location
This photo was taken on Paxos island which is close to Corfu (Greece) where I spent my vacation.Time
I had to take some nice photos about the sunrise and for this I had to wake up at about 5 o'clock. I left the sailor ship in very silence where the others was sleep and went up the top of the hill of harbor. I prepared my gear and waited for the miracle. During the sunrise (which started at about 6:30) I found the golden bridge at the gate of the port among the ships and then I had only a few moment to take this picture.Lighting
This photo happened in the nature so the only light source was the sun, but that was the sunrise period, the lights was being changed continuously. That means that after almost every photo I was need to change the settings on camera.Equipment
I used a Canon EOS 7D with a Canon EF 28-300mm lens. This morning I used a tripod as well for sharp photos.Inspiration
I live in a city and there very hard to take some great sunrise/sunset pictures because the smog and dust. When I can go to vacation then I am trying to shoot as interesting photos as I can not to do in my regular live.Editing
I only managed the lights with "Levels" setting as post processing. In my camera bag
It depends on the task. If I go to holiday, I try to take as many things as I can. It means I have a Canon EOS 7D which are always with me, I also have a Canon EOS 1000D what has been modified to IR photography by me and if I have a space then it is with me too, I have few lenses, filters, tripods, flashes, and nowadays I use a Mamiya RZ67 as well. But, if I have a task which defined exactly, then of course I just pack the necessary things.Feedback
I can see many times sunrise/sunset photos where the sun looks like a star. It means the photographer used very narrow aperture. Hence they have to use either higher ISO or very long shutter speed. The sun will move during the very long shutter speed, or the picture will be noisy because the higher ISO. Personally I do not like if the sun looks like a star, so I am using wide aperture, low ISO (100 - 200) and faster shutter speed (1/250 - 1/1000).
