Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on a quiet, serene beach in Pakiri, New Zealand in early October.

Time

We had just arrived in the late afternoon and gone for a walk along the beach to feel the sand between our toes when I spotted this gorgeous piece of wood in the water, and the water it was in was still enough for a beautiful reflection. I have no idea whether someone had carved it and put it there or if it had just ended up that way and in that spot naturally, but it was too perfect a scene to miss!

Lighting

The sun was just starting to set behind me, but was still high enough to give the deep blue shades in the sea and sky.

Equipment

My iPhone! I was so impressed at how it turned out.

Inspiration

I love the way the sky and clouds look above the sea but the contrast with the wood and the sand between the pool and the sky somehow intensified the blue even more.. It was just a beautiful moment to be in and demanded to be captured!

Editing

I increased the saturation and warmth a little.

In my camera bag

Just my IPhone but I am looking to buy a decent spec camera :)
