I was already down taking this shot. Already got a really nice one without the Dog, when the dog walked in and sat down right in that hole. Than looked right at me.
I went back a few months later to do another wedding. My driver asked if he could stop and get a sandwich at a friends house. Guess what he pulled right up in front of ??? This very same same house just to the left. I showed him this picture on my phone and he said "Hey! That's Sandra's dog!" The very same lady we were getting the sandwich from. Unbelievable!!! I went back again a few months ago and brought them a small matted print.

This image was made in the West End of Negril Jamaica. It was a personal day during a Destination Wedding that I was photographing. I was already down taking this shot. Already got a really nice one when the dog walked in between me and the boat and sat down right in that hole. than looked right at me. Magical! I went back a few months later to do another wedding. My driver asked if he could stop and get a sandwich at a friends house before we went exploring. Unbelievably he pulled right up in front of this very same same spot. What are the chances?!? I was stunned and showed him this picture on my phone and he said "Hey! That's Sandra's dog!" The very same lady we were getting the sandwich from. Unbelievable!!! We went inside and Sandra just loved the picture of her little guy. I went back again a few months later for another Wedding and brought them a 4x6 matted print. Sandra wasn't home but I was able to give it to her uncle who was pulling that very same somewhat repaired boat in from the Caribbean with a stringer full of fish. I have picture of this moment as well and I'll never forget his smile and amazement.Time
This image was created at sunset. This is exactly why my wedding clients go to Negril ! The sunsets are always amazing.Lighting
The light was absolutely perfect. I could almost feel the colors as I stood there. This was what I refer to as the "Golden Minute".Equipment
Nikon D7100 with a Nikon 17-55 2.8, no flash, handheldInspiration
When I travel for Destination Weddings I always take some time to go out and explore. I usually hire a driver to take me out of the tourist area and to where the locals hang. I noticed the leading lines of the boat pointing into the sunset and asked him to pull over. As I was down on my knees to get this shot, the dog walked right in between me and the boat and sat down and looked right at me. If you shoot enough, stuff like this happens!Editing
I did very little post on this one. Just simple raw processing really. I did clone out a few pieces of trash. In my camera bag
For these exploring trips I carry a 70-200 2.8 VRII and a 17-55 2.8 on a variety of Nikon bodies. Usually a D610 and a D7200. An SB910 or two,Travel tripod, circular polarizer and a little rubber smiley face dude that travels with me. Sometimes I'll throw in a 60mm 2.8 Macro.Feedback
Not sure who said it first but I always think of something I heard at a Joe Mcnally class."If you want interesting photos, stand in front of interesting stuff" I think this qualifies. A little luck made this one. While I love the shot without him, the dog took it over the top for me.
