The photo was taken in my home from my Christmas tree in Virginia.Time
I took this photo about 2:00 in the morning. I couldn't sleep one night I looked over to my Christmas tree and it hit me an i just had to take a picture if it.Lighting
I wanted to capture the lighting in such away that it drew the viewer into the seen just like you were looking at your own ornament from your own tree and giving you that since of peace that comes with Christmas.Equipment
This image was shoot with a Canon EOS 20D at f/6.3 and an so of 800 with an 18-55 lens and with a tripodInspiration
I was laying in bed looking at our Christmas tree and i noticed this ornament and the way the lights were hitting it, so I got out of bed put my slippers on garbed my camera and took the shot.Editing
Yes, I did do a little editing after the shot the camera didn't quite capture it the way I seen it so I went in and put the colors and the lighting to the way I seen the image in my head.In my camera bag
The equipment I always carry with me is my Canon 20D, my 18-55mm lens, 75-300mm lens and a 50mm lens.I also carry a set of extension tubes and ND filters and a shutter remote and a speedlight and cleaning equipment to make sure all my equipment is clean at all times.Feedback
The best advise I could give anyone that would like to get a similar shot is to look around your Christmas tree and look at the way the lights are hitting the ornaments. Make sure you have a tripod and either extension tubes or a macro lens, take your time make sure everything is level and then take your shot.
