Location

I took this stunning shot, Mountain Xianairi, one of the three "God Mountains" in Yading, Sichuan of China.

Time

I woke up at 5am to catch the first coach to Yading, then walked for about 2 hours to the "Pearl Lake" scenic spot. This photo was took at around 2pm when I returning to meet my peers.

Lighting

During the mid-day of time, the lighting is good as the sun is just rised to the middle of the sky. It created a picture that the whole mountain was lighted by sunshine.

Equipment

I took this photo using my Sony a7, with the Zeiss 24-70 FE 4 lens and without tripod.

Inspiration

When I walked through the beautiful trail, with great scenic views and Autumn leaf, I thought it would be great to take a photo with the God Mountain connected with those amazing Autumn leaf around it. It turned out with a wonderful shot that I admired to have.

Editing

A just in fit post-processing will bring amazing effect to the photo. In this photo I tuned brighter the background, and adjusted the saturation.

In my camera bag

My recent choice of equipment is my Sony a7 camera, Zeiss 24-70 FE4 and a Gitzo tripod, creating the outstanding combination of taking most of the landscape photos. Some accessories like grey card filters are also useful for taking sunrise and sunset photos.

Feedback

Since Yading is located in a high altitude land, which is above 4000 meters, therefore you should consult your doctor to get appropriate advice on your health status, as well as to get back-up medicine in case you have any symptom of high altitude reaction. Different season will provide different scenic views but if you would like to take those golden autumn leaf with the God Mountains, you should choose October to visit this beautiful place.
