Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the 26th August, 2014 during a drive around Kruger National Park, South Africa. We were visiting from Australia and love driving around the parks searching out birds and other animals.

Time

I am not sure of the time as we used to arrive at the park when it opened and left before the gates were closed for the day.

Lighting

Most days were sunny and when you drive around the parks, you have to make the most of of the conditions that are presented to you.

Equipment

Canon 5D MK III, EF 100-400 L series lens, no tripod or flash. Taken at 400 mm, f5.6, 1/500

Inspiration

As we drive around the parks, it is recommended that you drive at a speed on 20 - 25 mph so you don't miss seeing animals tha may be hiding among the foliage. I love seeing animals in their natural habitats.

Editing

From memory I may have lightened the photo a little.

In my camera bag

I normally travel with a Canon 5D MKIII, Canon 7D MK II, EF 100-400 L series lens, Canon 24-105 lens, Kenko 2 x extender, several batteries and compact flash cards.
