Behind The Lens
Location
I was traveling in south Brazil when I saw that old house on the roadside. The sunset was right behind the house and the light was pretty awesome. So I decided to stop my car on a scape area and went back to th place to take some shots. Only when I got right in front of the house I could see that the sun was entering through the side window, crossing the house and shining in a amazing way through the front window. That was an unique shot for me.Time
It was around 7pm (brazilian summer time), at the sunset.Lighting
Oh yes!! The lighting on this picture was the main character. I had the luck to get the sun in a position that was unique. The sunlight was literally crossing the house from the side window to the front window, and it made this beautiful effect (some people thought that the light effect was made in pos production, but I have the raw file to prove that it was just that awesome). There is another thing that became a lesson for me because of this photo. Two weeks after I took it, I went to that same place and the house was demolished. That made me realize that sometimes you don't have a second chance in life. If I hadn't stopped that day to take this picture, I would not be able to do it anymore. Nobody can take another picture of that old house cause it's not there anymore. That's the thing that makes this picture so special for me.Equipment
I used a canon 6d with a 24-105 f4 lensInspiration
I was inspired by the light. I was driving when I saw the sun "bathing" that old house with that beautiful warm light and I needed to stop my car and take that picture.Editing
I applied a graduated filter to make the house brighter and made the shadows less evident. Also reduced the blue luminance to enhance the sky.In my camera bag

Always carry your camera with you and always stop and take the picture when you see the opportunity. Next week could be to late. Thats the most important advice I can give you. To make the light look like a "star"you must use a small aperture (I used f22 in this one), but f13 or up will do the job. Never trust your camera photometer when you have this kind of light and shadows contrast. You will end up with a overexposed sky and it will ruin the picture. Its better maintain a balance between shadows and light, even if your image looks a little dark for you (it's easier to fix that on pos).
