Location
The photo was taken at my grandmothers beach house in Puerto Rico.Time
The photo was shot indoors Midday.Lighting
The lighting for this image was shot with natural lighting coming from a window located behind the subject. I was able to achieve this dramatic effect by simply diffusing the lighting with curtains and lowering the ISO. When i think of nudes I think "Dramatic Lighting." Dramatic lighting helps emphasize the contrast between light and dark and enhances the groves and curves within the human form!Equipment
This photo was shot with a Canon Rebel T5, Manfrotto Tripod and a Standard 18-55 mm Lens.Inspiration
I was listening to John Meyers "Your Body is a Wonderland" and i thought to myself WOW i would love to create a nude series depicting The body as a WONDERLAND. Music has always been a HUGE part of my life it allows me to go to another world and create mental images. Your body is a wonderland Your body is a wonderland (I'll never speak again... I'll use my hands)Editing
Nude photography doesn't require much processing. I darkened with brightness and contrast, added a tilt shit and a bit of dodging where the light hit the human form.In my camera bag
Essentially i usually carry a tripod Canon 50 mm and my Telephoto lens.Feedback
Know what you’re looking for before you start shooting (Lighting, posing, Etc) Use natural lighting VS artificial lighting, the best place to shoot nudes in my opinion is indoors by a window- curtains will help you have more control over the amount of light and lower your shutter speed Using the right focal length can bring a real sense of quality to nude photography Using diagonal lines can really make an image more punchy. It adds an extra element of drama and impact to the image Use the curves of the human form to add more flow throughout your image. Always have fun creating!
