Aspen Trunks near Kebler Pass, Crested Butte, CO.

I had one chance to get out for fall pics this year and chose Kebler Pass and was not disappointed save for some weak end of day lighting conditions.
I love walking through the woods trying to find the perfect grouping of aspen trunks. I find that I only discover about one spot each trip that I really like and this was the area this year. I will have a few more to come from this spot.
As a crazy side note...while I was taking this shot I heard a loud cracking noise and walked over to the side to see what it was only to watch a tree fall with the top landing about five feet from my tripod. Talk about a serious adrenalin boost! I thought my beloved D800 was toast!
