Because we all know that a smile is so powerful it can change someone's life.We often forget this important fact and so must encourage each other to to smile. My cousin here gave the biggest smile as soon as I pointed my camera to her.

Location
This photo was taken by a new leased room.My mom had just leased the room to a new occupant who came in with 2 children. My cousin(displayed in this picture) was so excited after having made new friends.Time
It was taken in the afternoon, that time of day when nature abides to your photography needs.I remember having lunch and then being told by my mom to go welcome the new occupants. My mom had asked my cousin to befriend the children as they were about the same age.Lighting
This picture for me is evidence that sometimes in life we try too hard to be perfect or we focus too much on the technicalities; But in most cases, our subject matter already presents itself to us as a perfection( with natural lighting from our mother nature)and all that is required from us is a click of a button. In this case,I just needed to be aware or conscious of the moment that was being presented to me and capture it.I obviously avoided being under a shaded area or having my subject in front of the Sun.Equipment
Being new to the photographic world, all I used was my faithful Nikon D3100.Inspiration
I was inspired by my subject matter-my cousin. In this moment,I was exposed to the most genuine and joyous of smiles.I was compelled to capture this moment as I strongly felt that it would've been a crime not too. This photo also proves that joy doesn't require much,my cousin had only met new friends but the joy she felt was tremendous. The composition itself displayed in front of me was worth the capture. My cousin's orange top complimented and highlighted her facial features. Her natural african hairstyle was a beautiful contrast.I was thus in awe of the composition that presented itself freely to me.Editing
The only post processing I did was to adjust the contrast on my laptop.I also made use of a filter to help harmonise the composition in the picture.I think I made us of a red tint.In my camera bag
As I am still a beginner in the world of photography,I do not carry that much equipment.Apart from my faithful Nikon,I carry an extra battery and memory card(you never know when you're about to capture the shot of your life and it will really suck if your battery was dead or your memory was full...)Feedback
From my very short experience as a photographer,I have noticed that sometimes we try so hard to capture the perfect shot and abide to all technicalities of so said taking a worthy photograph that we miss these opportunities. When it comes to children,I realised that I always try so hard to make them commit to a pose which I value as camera worthy. In doing this,i often miss the genuinety of a moment.I've learnt to thus capture the truth, not a man made or mannipulated appearance to impress people but just the plain truth of an event.lastly,I've learnt to not be too confident and just capture a single shot. The more you take, the more you guaranteed to have captured The shot. With this being said, always check your background,it is really disappointing to later reflect on a picture and notice a disturbing object In the background.
