This photo was taken in Aurora Illinois near our apartment at the time.Time
I took this early in the morning. I had passed by this place many times while walking my dogs and thought if I could get an early morning shot it would turn out really nice.Lighting
I wanted the photo to be about the flower and the water behind it. There are some houses near the pond that were visible later in the day. I chose to shoot this early in the morning with just a little light so the mist was still in the air.Equipment
I shot this with a Nikon coolpix and no other equipment.Inspiration
I had walked my dogs passed this spot a few times and thought that an early morning shot would look really nice. On my birthday I got up a little early and walked to this spot by myself to take the photo.Editing
I used macphun software on my computer to tone down some of the background and then brighten the flower.In my camera bag
Since this picture I have upgraded to a Nikon d3200. Aside from that I usually just take along a tripod and a wide angle lens. I'm kind of new to photography and haven't invested much money into it yet.Feedback
Since taking this picture I've tried to keep a camera with me most of the time, especially when I go on hikes or walks with my family. I was lucky to live near this place and had time to come back to get the picture. There have been times since then that I've only had the camera on my phone to shoot with. With access to photo editing software I've been able to bring a lot more out of those photos but had I not had a camera with me it wouldn't have mattered.
