Location
This photo was taken in the South African Kruger National Park. This was the first time I could exercise using my (at that stage) new Nikon D3100. It was the best time of my life.Time
This image was one I waited years for. It was taken after 5 in the afternoon just before we had to return to the rest camp for the evening. For 13 years I was dreaming of a typical African Sunset photo taken in the Kruger National Park and on the third day of our week's holiday, this was my gift. I am very proud of this image seeing though I was still very green in photography with no formal training when this image was taken.Lighting
The only way to describe the lighting is just to say "Magical African Sunset". The glorious colors painted by nature itself to create and image to be savored for ever.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D3100 with a 55-200mm Lens from our 4x4 Vehicle. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
For years my biggest dream was to capture the Magical African Sunset. My first camera on which I started experimenting on was an Olympus 3.2MP digital camera and when my husband blessed me with my Nikon D3100 DSLR Camera, I couldn't stop admiring the capability compared to the old one. This image and the scene it captured is true to our beautiful Africa and the Kruger National Park and to have been able to tell the people "this is one of the images I took" gave me the biggest thrill and paved my way in becoming a professional photographer. And still the journey continuesEditing
The only post-processing done on this photo was to add my AnnaJ (c) SignatureIn my camera bag
My Nikon D3100 with especially my 55-200mm lens is the first thing I pack for a holiday. And of course to finish of thrill of nature, my book of Identifying Birds. Soon this will be expanded by a new and more powerful zooming lens as well as a newer model camera to aid my growth in my photography careerFeedback
Photography is an art. If you can see the beauty in everything around you then you can create beautiful images. Dare a lot (there is no developing costs) and sometimes there are no thing such as a wrong image. Create your own feel and trademark in your images. Listen to advise of others but always be true to who you are. And sometimes the best photo is the one you patiently waited for. And other times just luck. Take your camera and color in the canvas of your life with a legacy to leave behind.
