That afternoon of November was very cloudy. We left Kings Canyon National Park with a little disappointment (some parts of the park had been closed). On Route 180 back to Fresno, around 4:00pm, we thought we would never see any sunlight before the end of the day. Suddenly, the setting sun broke the heavy clouds and glorified the last moment of the daylight before the darkness taking over completely. Hooray!! We immediately stopped driving and found a spot to park. I would never forget how excited we were. My camera captured this great moment. Although a little later the sun became bigger, this photo of the first moment of breaking out is perhaps the most dramatic.
