This is stunning...My son's wedding photographer took the same photo of his wife at the Casa monica in St. Augustine...
Same photographer See allBehind The Lens
Behind The Lens
Location
this was taken in a hotel in highworth wiltshireTime
this was my friends wedding and she had asked me to do a few shots ...when i walked into this little hotel it had the most amazing window that overlooked the high street ....so i knew where i would place my friend and as her wedding was just after noon the light from the window behind wouldnt be over powering.Lighting
i wanted to show my friends dress of in all its beauty from behind and my friend is so elegant she holds her slender frame beautifully , i knew this would be the perfect back of the dress shot....i only used natural light. It was quite dark if i had done her front she would of been too dark and her skin woukd of had way to much shadow so this was the perfect opportunity to show her dress off in its full beautyEquipment
i used my nikon d7000 and i honestly cant remember what lens i used ... sorryInspiration
the window inspired this...i saw the window and the picture took shape in my mind how i wanted it to lookEditing
yes i did, i had to take the chaos from the highstreet through the window out and there was a fire hydrant on the wall on the left hand side that i needed to remove so that the eye was totally focused on the dress and i used curves to accentuate the white dress and the light from the window and i also used it to create a darkness surrounding her so the eye would only focus on the dressIn my camera bag
i usually have my d750 nikon and my d7000 in my bag i have my 70-200 and my nifty 50 with me for casual shootingFeedback
just go for it .... there is no right or wrong way to shoot it it depends on how you want the light to fall ....how much light , how much shadow...i intended this to be a black and white so i knew exactly how much i wanted ....a tip to save on time for post processing would be to take it when there is no traffic or people walking past the windows.also look for the details in the dress they need to show
