Location
I took this photo in Gresham Oregon. I drove by this house frequently and just loved that every spring they would plant flowers in this old truck.Time
I honestly don't remember what time it was. We are often overcast in the Pacific Northwest, so that seems to help with avoiding shadows usually making for great pictures even in the middle of the day.Lighting
Lucky for me, I didn't have to do anything with lighting. A cloudy filter in the sky made this picture great.Equipment
I love photography, but don't have a huge budget for it, so I don't have the nicest camera, but it does the trick. It's a Lumix Panasonic DMC-FZ18.Inspiration
I love creativity of all kinds. When I saw the flower filling the entire retired truck (with the Holland logo), I just thought it was such a brilliant way to keep the old truck, but not make it an eye sore for the neighbors. I also love the bright colors of the petunias and other flowers against the gray old truck.Editing
I probably played with the contrast an lightness of the photo. In my camera bag
I'd love to have a brand new Nikon in my bag, but generally I just have my Lumix, cool handmade neckstrap, my small bag, batter charger, tripod attachment (in case I bring my tripod) and my card reader so that I can use it anytime (and so I don't misplace it).Feedback
Just be observant of the beauty and creativity around you, bring your camera with you everywhere and take the time to get the picture. Since going back to work, I haven;t been as good at this myself, but reviewing this picture for the blog has made me pull out my camera and I will be taking it with me again, so, THANK YOU!
