I was looking for macro subjects in the Star Swamp Bush land in Perth, when I came across this hoverfly. I find hoverflies interesting, but the can be quite skittish & this one was sitting still on the fence, so I could get a few shots.Editing

Insects & spiders are easy to spot on fences, so I like to take a quick walk along the fence before heading into the bush land to look for subjects. Insects are colder in the early morning so they aren't as fast & don't fly away as readily as later in the day which means you have more time to compose your shot.
