Your work is wonderful; not just this one but the majority of the stuff I saw. You have a great sense of the use of colour and variations to make stunning images. Thanks for sharing them here

Delightful work, Pam! Like Jeff said, your overall approach to photography is superior and is thought out like a designer might do. This Mimosa is very impressive. I like the isolation of the bloom from the background and all anchored by the leaves.

YES! Mimosa Hostilis. Look this tree up online and all you will find is DMT extraction. DMT aka "the spirit molecule" did you know that the leaves and flowers are edible, the seeds however are very poisonous. I used to call it the fairy puff tree until someone told me the correct name recently. It's a fascinating tree. Your picture is absolutely, beautifully perfect. I can't wait till this summer to try the flowers. My Viewbug Avitar is a picture of the mimosa looking through my crystal Lexie. I named the pic "The DMT Goddess" and later found out that the tree has DMT in its root bark

Location
This photo was taken at Colonial Lake in New Jersey. During the summer months, my job at Rider University has 'summer hours'. A couple of mornings a week I get to go to work a little later than usual. I get up at the same time I always do, and drive to the lake, and take a walk. I watch the sun come up on the water and the flowers. This mimosa tree is by a little bridge. It is one of my favorites.Time
I usually get to the lake at around 7:00 am, and this tree is about half way around the lake, so probably around 7:30 am.Lighting
I love the way light has a transformational effect on anything that it hits. I liked the way the light shone through the pink spikes in the flower and brought out the color on a whole other level.Equipment
I use a high level digital for photos I take during my nature hikes. It offers me the most flexibility with everchanging (sometimes moving) nature - flowers, animals, wind......this was taken with a 60x zoom lens.Inspiration
I love nature. It helps me focus on what matters and let go of what doesn't. I like to capture moments that inspire me so I can pass the moment on to someone else.Editing
I try to do as little post-processing as possible. I like to represent the beauty of nature as it appeared and moved me. For this photo I increased the contrast just a bit and sharpened it up a little. In my camera bag
I have a high level digital...I have an old Olympus, a Nikon, and a Panasonic bridge camera which I use most often right now. I try to travel light so my hiking is not restricted. I also have a couple of macro lenses and a small tripod.Feedback
I am moved by how much beauty is all around us right in our own backyards...our own little worlds. I find it most important to really look...to take time to really see...to allow the vision to get down into your soul....to move your heart. Then you will find it easier to decide exactly how to approach the shot, because you will have a clear vision of what you want to capture and share.
