I shot this on the maximum focal length of 250mm for my telephoto lens and used a monopod to aid stabilisation. I also had image stabilisation switched on for the lens as I was essentially the other 2 legs for the tripod & I expected some degree of movement that might blur the image at such a focal length.

I cannot decide whether I did the right thing by having the image stabilisation switched on.
I have read that image stabilisation sacrifices sharpness of the shot for a clear image. BTW I shot around 30 pictures before the deer wandered off, so I was there for a while.

My question to you all is: Would you have used image stabilisation if shooting under the same conditions?
