Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken during one of our many dog walks on our property.

Time

Taken around 1pm, then sun was shining and the snow was so inviting. Picked up my camera and off we went for a walk.

Lighting

Lighting was all natural and just worked out well that day. Sometimes it can be very tricky on bright snow days.

Equipment

Nikon D7000, Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG Macro

Inspiration

My dogs are always an inspiration, Forest (pictured) is so goofy when he plays and when he plays he plays HARD!

Editing

This did not take much post, it was well lit and worked. I used Lightroom.

In my camera bag

Depending on what I am doing, for this I took the above mentioned gear. When I am on the run I have my D7000, Tamron 18-70 and Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8. Sometimes a tripod finds it's way in. I try to go as light as possible and learn to use what I have and make it work.

Feedback

Practice and patience. Animals can be difficult but rewarding. Being flexible with the shoot and having fun. I am fortunate to be an animal trainer so sometimes I can work with an animal prior to a shoot and see what shots I can get. Most important have fun and don't stress.
