After the divorce, when my kids were not with me, my roomate's son would talk to me and be his natural active self. His mom would tell him, "Don't bother her." I would quickly say, "He's no bother at all. Let him be." He filled a void of acceptance I was missing from my older two and a void of presence from my youngest child. My youngest child did not follow the pattern of Parent Alienation Syndrome but I had to wait my turn to see her. Aries filled that void I needed. That acceptance that I was a good mother. That I was a good person and roll model. Sometimes during my grieving I could barely function but I took care of him if my roomate needed help. He was like my son that no longer accepted me except he did.
