Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken off the Santa Cruz Wharf. It is of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

Time

I took this photo at 9:12 PM. The fog started rolling in and the boardwalk was still open will all its rides going.

Lighting

Lighting is what got my attention, The for was rolling in and so I could see the fog being lit up by the rides and also the water was reflecting the lights from the rides. it made for a really beautiful Image.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D5200, with a Nikon 55-300mm lens. I did not have a tripod so I had to set my camera on the railing of the wharf. After many many shots I got a few that where not blurry.

Inspiration

Waiting for my girlfriend I looked out at the Boardwalk, and the sight I saw with the lights and fog really took my breath away. I tried my best to recreate it in a photo as best I could.

Editing

There is a little bit of post-pressing using Adobe Lightroom. Boosting the saturation and using noise reduction. Other then that nothing was added to the photo.

In my camera bag

Mostly my Nikon D5200 and my Nikkor 60mm Macro lens.

Feedback

I guess the best advise I can give is go out and just take lots of pictures. I feel I am much better not then when I took this photo.
