Location
i had attended a function at the US embassy in kenya. i think it was a 4th july ( independence day)... musicians were playing some very beautiful melodies. my eyes kept glued to the man playing the saxophone...i like music very much. i focused my camera at the time he seemed to 'be feeling' the music most...and i took the shot.Time
this is midday...Lighting
the light was perfect... not very hot. i would say the i didn't use the flash just the natural lighting.Equipment
i usually use my 7D canon camera with a 28-300mm lens.Inspiration
i like music..infact, if there is something else i like and have passion for besides photography...its music. i could hear the saxophonist playing when we were at the gates of the US embassy...the music was beautiful, soothing infact i can say 'therapeutic' i had to take his picture while playingEditing
not much.. i thing after placing the image on photoshop...just touched the auto levels...In my camera bag
i carry my canon 7D, lens 16-35mm, 28-300mm, canon flash 600, batteries, a towel for wiping the outer body of the camera, a small blower for removing dust etcFeedback
if the function is taking place outside like the one i attended, then its good to use a longer lens. the setting should be from 400 speed, 5.6 aperture and ISO -400. i use manual so it depends much on how the weather is that day. then the photographer should think fast while waiting for the Right moment in order to click and get the right image. one should not make the musician realised that he is being photographed...it should be taken while he is 'feeling the music'
