I took this photograph from the summit of Hawksbill Mountain (4050 ft.) in Shenandoah National Park. To the left is the town of Stanley, VA, to the right, the Shenandoah Mountains and Skyline Drive. The quick-route hike to the summit is completely uphill (ow!) and dull as dishwater, but the reward at the top is priceless. This photo is a 3-frame panorama shot handheld with a DSLR (thus the Cinerama effect where the seams are).
