We were out for a drive early one morning and as we neared a corner I saw this fellow on the wall waiting. Had we stopped the car it would have possibly distracted him and made him change his position so I told my Husband to keep driving as I shot. I love his Charlie Chaplinesque posture!

My husband and I were on our way to go and pick up a new farm truck in the Grey Bruce area of Ontario, I always have my camera with me especially when we drive because I love the area we live in, its full of wonderful scenery and I never want to miss an opportunity to catch those special moments, even when we are driving past at 100km/hr!Time
It was early morning as we drove to pick up the new truck, the sun was just coming up and the fog still hung close to the ground.Lighting
As I said it was early morning light, one of the most delicious lights of the day, it was light overcast with ground fog creating a wonderful misty background.Equipment
This was taken with my Canon 60D and 18-200 kit lens.Inspiration
I love to shoot from the car as my Husband drives. Living in a rural area we have the pleasure of driving through wonderful scenery even during a drive to the store. I always have my camera with me and I'm always watching for neat things ahead. As we approached a corner I spotted this wonderful fellow standing on the wall and started to get excited, I do believe my exact words were omg omg omg!! as I got ready to shoot. My Husband asked if I wanted him to stop (he doesn't often ask, stopping every time something neat goes by becomes old for the non photographer) he knew this was something special. I told him to just keep driving, if we stopped the fellow would have become aware of us and changed his position. He slowed and turned and I hit focus and started shooting as we drove past. I got 6 frames at various angles and this was my favourite of the bunch!Editing
I shoot in raw so this was processed normally with adjustments to contrast and sharpness while maintaining the foggy feeling in the background then converted to black and white. In my camera bag
I'm a bit of a minimalist when I'm shooting, I've tried carrying extra gear around with me but have found that I get so lost behind the camera and rarely reach into the bag to grab other gear, the bag just becomes a pain to lug around. I choose a lens/camera combo and work with what I have in my hand at the time.Feedback
Since I shot this as we drove my best advice would be to have your camera with you always and make sure your settings are ready for the conditions so you don't have to worry about exposure in the moment and you can settle in and focus on the scene before you!
