Behind The Lens

Location

This photo of Lord Nelson atop his column in Trafalgar Square was taken whilst I was standing on the island at top of Whitehall - where the plaque is that marks the "Centre of London"

Time

The picture was taken mid afternoon on a Saturday

Lighting

It was a dry slightly overcast day - would have like a bluer sky

Equipment

I was testing the lens on a new camera, at the time, my Canon SX40 HS with 140x digital zoom and this was taken hand held as didn't have a tripod with me that day.

Inspiration

I was inspired to take it to see how close I could get to see Nelson's features

Editing

No post processing

In my camera bag

Just my camera, spare battery and maybe next time i'll remember to carry a tripod or monopod

Feedback

My advice - give it a go - and when in London "Look up" there's so much architecture above the eyeline
