Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on a beautiful fall day on a family members farm.We call it the funny farm as it has an array of animals.....and people alike.

Time

I seem to get out photogging in the middle of the day.This photo opportunity was no different.I know mid day isn't the norm for photographers but I seem to get my best shots then.

Lighting

Since it was middle of the afternoon the sun was fairly bright.Thanks to the surrounding greenery it cut down on the unbearable glare a bit.

Equipment

I always bring out with me my purse camera,as I like to call her...lol.My 60 D with a 18mm-135mm lens.Nothing special about my gear.

Inspiration

I have a huge love of animals of any sort.Also bugs of all kinds.Anything really that catches my eye.Animals are especially fun as you never know what you're going to get.The farm gives me the opportunity to capture all the animals comfortable in their environment.

Editing

I unfortunately am only a Lightroom user.I do shoot in RAW,but edit in Lightroom.I usually try not to mess to much with a photo like this,as I try my best to take a great photo as it appears in that moment.This photo I believe I gave it a run over with the clarity tool to sharpen it a bit.

In my camera bag

I have a bag but I am the kind of girl who flies by the seat of her pants.Therefore I just grab a camera and go.Sometimes I'll bring my 55mm-250mm lens just in case.

Feedback

Be patient and most importantly enjoy the moment.Dont get hung up on capturing the perfect shot.Take your camera and if you shoot something great.....if not,that's ok too.No pressure.Just love what you do.
