Location
this is a photo of a driveway door in Woodheaven, NY right on 88th RD and 85th St.Time
This photo was taken at 9:30 am on August 27, 2014Lighting
At that time the lighting is still not so strong and the driveway was shaded by a building that is right across the street. This shot was 100% not planned. All I wanted to do was to test a lens that I recently bought at the time.Equipment
I am still trying to get all my equipment set, so I am constantly changing gear. At that time I used a Canon T3i paired with the 18-55mm kit lens. There was no flash involed or anything else.Inspiration
Nothing inspired me to take this photo. I just had 15 minutes off from work and while driving I saw a lot of texture on that door and I thought right away that it was good to take some test shots to see how shar was the lens.Editing
All i had to do was some cropping and leveling of the frame. Then I saw it was missing a subject and decided to use the gradient tool to adust exposure from top left to bottom righ and from bottom right to top left, leaving a diagonal strip of light accentuating the lock.In my camera bag
Right now my all around gear is a Canon 6d and a 135mm 2L lense. I also carry just in case, a 50mm 1.4 and a 70-200mm f4LFeedback
Anything can be turned to art. This was a test shot and turned out to be one of my favorites.
