Behind The Lens

Location

On the coast of Weymouth. It is near a little campsite that is right by the coast. There is a lovely little foot path leading to it.

Time

Around 8 - 10 pm summer time. Summer dusk just as the sun starts to set.

Lighting

Try set you camera settings based on the lighting at the time of the photograph. For example the exposure and the aperture. The darker the higher the settings and the lighter the lower the settings.

Equipment

I used a finepix s2980. This was one of my first cameras when I started trying out in photography. There was no attached lens and no artificial lighting. I used sport mode to prevent the waves from blurring.

Inspiration

I saw a stunning view that I have grown up seeing as I used to live near the coast. I saw a stunning view that was breathtaking. And the air was so still contrasting to the motion of he waves which I thought was stunning. I would have loved to have stayed trapped in the moment mid wave and just take in the beauty of the crashing waves. Droplets fighting with each other. I believe that a photo is a moment you an go back to. You can submerge yourself in a memory but each time with a different view and mind that has an ever changing perspective.

Editing

I didn't as at the Time i didn't have an software for it.

In my camera bag

My dslr camera a few different lense. Mostly landscape and macro. I also have a cleaning kit as a camera that sees so many views gets a little bit dusty. I also have filters however I rarely use them as I tend to do through editing.

Feedback

Just follow instinct. Because photography is personal to the photographer. It's a reflection of their mind. It's a visual experience of how their mind and experience has been. I would say find a place you like that has an interesting view with multiple things going on but only two to three max. Then keep checking back until you find the weather and the lighting you like and have some camera settings prepared and test there same view with them. And lastly don't be afraid to experiment and change your view and your angle. Mostly have fun!
