Location
We were down at Sydney's Olympic Park at Homebush. I think we had been down to the Agricultursl show here in Sydney (the Royal Easter Show)Time
This would have been late afternoon on the long walk back to our car.Lighting
Just the lovely sunlight shining through the waterEquipment
I had my Lieca X2 with me that day. It has a 24mm lens but as the chip is an APS-C chop I think that's snout 35mm eqivalent?Inspiration
I was watching the sun come through the water in the fountain, the fountain is actually what's left of the Olympic torch that sat above the main stadium in the 2000 Olympics. When the little boy ran in to the water that just added something to the shot that made it worth recording. He was having a blast !Editing
No post processing this , straight out of the camera. In my camera bag
Normally I carry my Canon 5dmk2, and the 16-35 f2.8 lens, graduated Nf4 filter is always in there. I have a 100mm f2.8 lens with macro that I carry sometimes, or when I have the strength the 70-200 f2.8. I generally don't have the patience for a tri pod but have been forcing myself to take it out more often lately. When I am going into the city I generally take my Lieca X2 now , seems to be the perfect street camera for me.Feedback
I've been pointing various cameras at things for over 35 years now , I just look for a moment that I find inspirational, I'm not particular interested in getting too technical with any shot. I stand back and observe the scene for ages sometimes before I shoot anything . With this one the light on its own through the fountain was nice and probably worth shooting, but the boy made the shot for me, the joy in his face made it.
