Behind The Lens

Location

The Photo was taken at home while setting up all Christmas decoration with my kids after My daughter (18 months old )was told to go to bed It was late i grabbed my camera to take a picture of them individually on front of our beautiful natural Tree and told her to do her sad face again and boom I've got it forever.

Time

Around 9pm Christmas eve

Lighting

I love the use of natural light to get the pictures, but sometimes is much better to mimic that effect using studio lights (flash, strobe, soft boxes, umbrellas) because shadows are more smooth and less grained if you know how to settle light and how far it need to be the flash-umbrella in order for you to get an awesome picture.

Equipment

It Was Shoot handheld Raw file in Manual Mode with my Nikon D7100 I used an umbrella and a flash remotely activated from my camera

Inspiration

Photography inspired me since i was a kid looking at my dad using His Pentax Film camera, now a days is much better because you can see the results of your images right the way instead waiting for the film to get develop. When I got my first DSLR (2003) Nikon D40x 10.2 megapixels my mind blows away from that moment i was in love with digital photography.

Editing

I converted the raw file from Color to Black & White using Light room 5 to give a more dramatic scene of that beautiful sad face.

In my camera bag

Nikon D7100 with 2 Nikon lenses 18-140mm 3.5-5.6, 50mm 1.8 transmitter and receiver pro series to remote shoot any flash or camera also carry a Canon G1X as a backup camera and also is used for my underwater photography

Feedback

Shoot shoot and shoot more and more images of everything including animals, people, landscapes, waterfalls It will give you the ability to get familiar to your manual setting and allow you to make the right setting in what shutter speed, aperture, or ISO to use an not let the camera decide it for you. Remember !!! out there you are the artist with your camera shoot manual see the result change settings and make it fun the results are going to be pictures that people will love.
