Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my hometown. I pass by this church very often and the fall colours just caught my eye that day. St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church was Maple's first church, established in 1832. The church was designated under the Ontario Heritage Act in 1979.

Time

This was taken in the mid-afternoon.

Lighting

Used natural lighting.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D80, tripod and 10-20mm wide angle lens.

Inspiration

I love old buildings and the beautiful fall colours just looked so pretty. I come to Viewbug daily to get inspired and to learn. I am a self-taught photographer and just an amateur but I hope to be able to take beautiful photos as I have seen here at Viewbug.

Editing

I bracketed this shot and used Pro-Matrix to create this HDR image. I am totally new to HDR and found out about it through Viewbug.

In my camera bag

My bag consists of; Nikon D80, Nikon 28-80mm (f3-5.6) lens, Nikon 70-300mm (f4-5.6) lens, Sigma 10-20mm (f4-5.6) wide angle lens, Nikon Speedlight SB-700, tripod, spare memory cards, spare battery & charger.

Feedback

I have always enjoyed photography. Capturing memories and moments in time. Recently, I very much began to enjoy landscape and macro photography. I have a new appreciation for all the beautiful things around me that I didn't seem to take notice of before. It's like my eyes have become my lens and if only I could blink to click. My best advise would be, take your camera with you everywhere because you never know what you may come across.
