Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the Wombeyan Caves Conservation Reserve. On the Mares Forest Creek Track

Time

It was taken about midday and mid winter

Lighting

I really liked how the sun was shining straight down into the gorge and made the water look like glass

Equipment

The camera used was a Canon 7D, the lens 24-105mm and hand held

Inspiration

When I was completing my Diploma PhotoImaging I had to come up with 20 images for my portfolio. So I thought I would start at the highest peck in Australia and work my way do to the ocean. This photo was one of the ones of coming down from the mountains.

Editing

This was done as a HDR. Two stops over and under. I also brought out the contrast a little bit more. But the colour is true to how it looked.

In my camera bag

Canon 1Dx and 7D. Lens 24-105mm, 70-200mm f/2.8, TS 24mm, two speedlites 430. Much more.

Feedback

Look at what the light so doing. This image was taken close to the ground, so take multiple shots at different angles. Slow down and look around.
