Location
This photo was taken as I strolled down Main Street In Scituate, Rhode Island. I was drawn by the low inviting buzzing of the bumble bees, as they worked to gather the last remnants of pollen from this striking sunflower.Time
This shot was taken late in the afternoon in September. The weather was beginning to get cooler so the bees were moving slowly almost posing and begging me to take their picture. So obviously, I obliged!Lighting
The yellow of the flower combined with the pollen covered fur of the bees played off each other, as well as the white picket fence on which the tall sunflowers leaned provided a picturesque canvas. As the sun's brightness dimmed the symphony of light, color and sound could not be ignored.Equipment
Nikon D-60, no flash, and a medium lens. I had to position a little far away to get the full up close photo. It worked as the bees were not disturbed.Inspiration
The sound of the bees was so inviting, it made me take notice. They were calling me!Editing
No editing, just plain Mother Nature. In my camera bag
Right now my bag is only my Samsung Galaxy, as I am between cameras. My bag will soon have a new Nikon, model TBD.Feedback
Follow the sun and your heart the combination can be unmatched. I also look for reflections in water they can make for amazing images. Where the earth and the sun come together always provides inspiration and priceless, one of a kind moments. And, don't forget to LOOK UP!
