My first attempt at Street Photography. I came home with this. I am so proud of it, very possibly the best photo I have ever taken.

The view I woke up to this morning. Cropped the dead space away and processed a tiny bit on PS.

Just a local pathway that caught my eye.

the little fella looked up at me as if to say "what are you looking at?!"

During an 8 second exposure this swan just decided to get into the shot. I left her there as she adds a dreamlike quality to the picture.

A Grey Heron has made his home in a local pond. I managed to get up close and personal with it today.

The picture was taken on Stride Avenue in Portsmouth.

The position of the sun was all the lighting I needed

Equipment

It was taken with a Fujifilm Finepix S6800 bridge camera with a Cokin sunset lens attachment

Inspiration

I had just returned from the shop in the street parallel to this one. Saw the sunset, ran home to grab the camera and ran to get the picture taken before I lost the light

Editing

The only processing I done was cleaned it up a little with Photoshop by removing a couple of overhead power lines just to give the picture a cleaner edge, I also cropped a little off the bottom.

In my camera bag

As I am new to this photography game I carry my bridge camera with lens adapter, spare batteries, lens cleaning pen and a polarizing lens which screws into the adapter.

Feedback

For a shot like this, patience is the key. As the sun travels through the sky it sets in a slightly different place every year. Keep an eye on where the sun sets each night and wait for the perfect night. I know this picture will not be replicated for another 6 months as the sun now sets behind the houses a little more rather than the middle of the street.
